Carolina Elias
TELEVISION PRODUCER · LOS ANGELES
Twenty Years Behind The World's Biggest Stages
Carolina Elias is a bilingual (English/Spanish) television producer, storyteller, and proud sibling advocate with two decades in the entertainment industry. From producing segments featuring icons like Julie Andrews, Tom Hanks, Jennifer Aniston, Bette Midler, and Bill Murray, to working on major productions around the globe, from Abu Dhabi and Budapest to Paris, Seville, St. Barth, and Ha Long Bay - she has spent her career behind the scenes of the world’s biggest stages.
Her credits span the Emmys, Grammys, Oscars, and Golden Globes, as well as landmark specials and series for ABC, Hulu, NBC, CBS, MTV, A&E, Nickelodeon, and more. She brings the same intentionality and care to every project, whether producing a large-scale talent awards show-open or a single, deeply human story.
Carolina's work is very personal. When she was 12, her sister Angelica was born with Down syndrome, and they've been best friends ever since. That bond led her to serve as a producer on Born This Way, the Emmy-winning A&E docuseries, bringing authentic lived experience to every frame.
A proud Arizona State University alumna and occasional guest speaker at her alma mater, Carolina brings the same journalistic instincts she honed in school to every production she touches. When the world shut down in 2020 and no one knew how to put on a live awards show remotely, she was part of the small group of producers that helped invent the answer — coordinating 138 nominees across 114 locations in 10 countries, shipping cameras, laptops, microphones, and lights to nominees' homes worldwide, executing something that had genuinely never been done before in live television history, so seamlessly that Jennifer Aniston called out mid-broadcast to say they were nailing it.
Whether Carolina is managing talent operations for a show reaching 7.4 million viewers or launching an independent podcast that earns coverage from the BBC to MSNBC in its first five months, her throughline is always the same: tell stories that matter, execute them flawlessly, and leave the world a little more seen.

Carolina was recruited to The Game Awards after executives took notice of how flawlessly she had managed remote nominee logistics at the 72nd Emmys. For the 2020 broadcast she brought that same precision to gaming's biggest night, and they asked her back for 2021, where she produced on-stage moments for highly anticipated game reveals featuring presenters Guillermo Del Toro, Simu Liu, Jim Carrey, and Ben Schwartz, alongside performances by Sting, Imagine Dragons, and a 130-piece orchestra. She personally worked with all 60 in-show nominees to navigate COVID protocols for the in-person event at the Microsoft Theater, welcoming 1,500 guests back to a live show. In 2023, she returned once more for the 10th Anniversary concert at the Hollywood Bowl, capped by Jack Black performing "Peaches" from The Super Mario Bros. Movie to a crowd that absolutely lost their minds.

She conceived the idea of replacing Nickelodeon's trademark green slime with gold for the Legend Award, creating an iconic moment for honorees including David Beckham, Kobe Bryant, Derek Jeter, and Michael Phelps upon their retirements. She also helped develop original games built around world-class athletes, bringing a creative energy to the show floor, while managing rights and clearances across music and logos for all four years.

Nominee Producer
As Nominee Producer for Dick Clark Productions, Carolina managed live technical and logistics operations for 40 nominees across a fully remote broadcast on NBC, personally owning eight in-show categories. She secured a rare live television appearance by Bill Murray, no small feat, and when a critical audio failure threatened to silence Daniel Kaluuya mid-acceptance speech, she resolved it in real time with the director, making sure the night's first celebrated moment was heard by everyone watching.

A friend and volunteer with the DSAOC since 2010, Carolina has been a constant presence at the organization's tentpole events — from the Buddy Walk and the Red Carpet Ball to the Golf Tournament and World Down Syndrome Day — giving her time, her skills, and herself to a community she has loved for 30 years. When Covid-19 hit, and people with Down syndrome were among the highest-risk, she put her production expertise to work, creating videos to keep the community connected while the world was shut down. She also participates in Sibling Workshops, sitting with younger brothers and sisters to share her own experience, letting them know they are not alone, and that having a sibling with Down syndrome can be one of the greatest gifts of your life.
Carolina's relationship with the National Down Syndrome Society goes beyond showing up: she brings her entire world with her. Using her industry connections, she has helped NDSS bridge the gap between Hollywood and advocacy, connecting the organization with talent who can amplify their message to audiences everywhere. She has stood alongside them on the most important stages of all advocating on Capitol Hill in front of Congress in Washington D.C., and at the Arizona State Capitol with her mom and sister by her side. She has celebrated with them too, attending their flagship fundraising gala and joining the New York City Buddy Walk — one of the most joyful gatherings in the Down syndrome community.
Since Amy Amaradio, a cast member from Born This Way, launched Dear Mom in 2018, Carolina has not missed a single conference. Every year, she makes her way to Laguna Beach for a day dedicated to the mothers who show up every day for their children with Down syndrome, and every year she shows up the same way — doing whatever the day needs.
At a DSAOC Red Carpet Ball, Carolina met Dr. Christy Hom of UCI's Center for Aging Research in Down Syndrome — and walked away with a mission. Learning about the groundbreaking Alzheimer's study for adults with Down syndrome, she enrolled her sister Angelica, who is now one of nearly 500 participants working toward a cure. Carolina has since become an advocate for the study's brain donation program, using her platform and connections to raise awareness for research that could change and save lives. She also puts her production skills directly in service of the cause, producing UCI's Down Syndrome Talent Showcase video alongside a talented production team from Beckman High School in Irvine, CA, giving young people with Down syndrome a stage and a spotlight because if there is one thing Carolina knows, it is how to make sure people are seen.
